Having tried many products on the market (lemon oil, tung oil, linseed oil plus many others...) the staff here at WD UK were amazed how just a tiny amount of Fret Doctor not only brings out the natural grain of the fretboard but also darkens the Rosewood, restoring it to the original colour. Fret Doctor is 100% natural and non-toxic. The main reason for oiling a fretboard isn't to darken it; it is to preserve it.

Fret Doctor will bring up the natural colour, grain, and patina of a tropical hardwood, making it darker in appearance - it is effectively like giving starving wood a good meal.
