Tailpiece not included! This is the real thing! This is the new locking version of the common Guitar Stud (Tailpiece Not Included) as used on 'Wrap-around' style bridge &, tailpiece combinations that secure solidly to your guitar and won't come loose or fall off when the strings are off. These TonePros System II Components are the same that you will find installed on the top new guitars direct from the factory. These Studs will look identical to your stock pieces but will turn your 'Wrap-around' including Badass, Schaller 455, and Wilkinson bridge/tail combos into a solid, locking system. These new TonePros Studs lock your existing 'Wrap-around' solidly in place creating perfect intonation and singing sustain. This model fits your Epiphone as well as most other guitars with 'Wrap-around' style bridges with metric threaded inserts. You won't believe the difference, and you will never go back!

I bought these because I couldn't stand to see my wrap-around bridge sitting at an angle and resting on a couple of points rather than fully flat up against the posts. Whilst they certainly do the job of holding the bridge flat and tight, getting the bridge set up with is a bit of a struggle. The supplied adjustment spanner was faulty, and the ends of the spanner were splayed out, so Y-shaped rather than square sided, which meant I had to use a different thin spanner to adjust the posts. You need to adjust the post height without the bridge being locked down, which means that the bridge will still be angled forwards slightly under string tension. You need to easy off the top screw a fair bit to make it easy to turn the post (and I was using a spanner about three times longer than the supplied one, so much more leverage). Depending on the bridge you are using them on, you may find (like on the bridge I was using), that subsequently tightening the top studs brings the bridge flat which alters the height of the saddles. On mine, the change in angle raised the strings up. So if you set up the bridge height for your desired action, tightening the locking studs will change it; which means loosening off the studs, altering the post height with what you think is enough correction, lock the studs again and see where you are. This can take several goes and is rather frustrating, even if you do get there eventually. Also, if your bridge sits really low to the body, you've got the danger of the spanner scratching the finish, so you need to mask up around the bridge when using it. And with a really low bridge height, the supplied spanner only just fits in the gap between the top and the bridge, making it very hard to grasp with your finger tips and apply the pressure to turn it. Hence the need to slacken off the strings and the locking posts. I know people say don't adjust the bridge height with the strings under tension, but we all do it as it makes it so much easier and quicker. But with these, it's necessary to slacken the strings off. Once set up, everything is fine, so no complaints there, but getting to that point isn't that easy. The supplied spanner should certainly be better quality with a longer handle for the price you pay. Unless your bridge sits way off the body, normal spanners are just too thick to fit between the bridge and the body. So it was luck that I had kept an old thin IKEA pack spanner in case it came in handy one day. Without it I'd never have got the bridge set up and it would have been back to the old posts. For what is still just a few screws, the price is far too high in my estimation, and you are simply paying for the Tone Pros name. But I was building the guitar for a friend who was just about to collect it, and I didn't have time to wait for any of the much cheaper locking studs available to arrive. So whilst they work, for a number of reasons, I can't really recommend them to others unless there was a specific set of circumstances that warranted their use. It would be nice if someone could come up with some studs that separated the locking and height adjustment functions, so that the bridge could be adjusted whilst locked.
