This unit is made in Japan by Gotoh - one of the worlds leading manufacturers of high-quality replacement guitar parts. This is a spot-on replication of a vintage tremolo typically found on a 1950's and 1960's USA Fender Strat. The only thing missing on this Gotoh bridge is the 'F' on the saddles! U.S.A. threads for all of the screws and it comes complete with the tremolo arm, springs, spring claw with screws, saddle height allen key and bridge-to-body mounting screws. Milled steel sustain block and steel saddles just like the original units.
Important measurements -
Centre to centre of the two outer mounting holes - 56mm
String pitch - 11.3mm
The most common name for the bridge on a Fender Strat is a tremolo - a name chosen by Leo Fender himself and yet because he was not a musician himself, he was probably unaware that the term 'tremolo' actually describes the rapid and continual decreasing and increasing of volume to create a 'warbling' effect rather than what the bridge really does which is to change the pitch of a note. So, the correct name for the Strat bridge should really be a vibrato unit but the misnomer has remained to this day.
In recent years we have requested from Gotoh that all of their tremolo units are sent to us in 'bulk' rather than boxed. Each tremolo unit arrives to us from Japan in neatly-wrapped clear bags along with all of the included parts (tremolo arm, screws, springs e.t.c.). We do this because we can fit a lot more of each model on our shelves meaning that we can be much better stocked. A lot of Gotoh products come with brand stamps either on the sustain block or bridge plate to confirm that the unit is a genuine Gotoh product. However, Gotoh do not brand stamp their vintage tremolo systems and we want to stress that this is a guaranteed genuine Gotoh item that we import directly from Japan but it will be sent to you in a clear plastic bag rather than in boxed and branded Gotoh packaging.

PICKGUARDS: Do not remove the protective cover or place any components on this pickguard until you have made a "dry run" on the instrument. Make sure all mounting holes and pickup cuts are positioned correctly. Pickguard replacement warranty will be void if the protective cover has been removed. Removing the protective film means that the item is not in a re-saleable condition and therefore we cannot accept it back for a refund.
